BARN: The Art of a Working Building traces separate vernacular barn forms in Europe, their adoption in New World settlements, and their eventual integration into wholly new American forms. It chronicles the barn raising tradition and illustrates examples of adaptive reuse of theses increasingly threatened structures.
BARN: Preservation & Adaptation examines the forces threatening barns in America’s changing landscape while promoting preservation through adaptive reuse. Successful conversations cover commercial, institutional, recreational and residential applications, including projects by New Jersey Barn Company in locations diverse as Massachusetts,
Montana, Texas and North Carolina.
